Tools & MCP (Actions)

Extend your agent's capabilities by binding API actions and MCP protocols.

Tools let agents take action during a conversation — query APIs, trigger workflows, or call MCP servers. Attach them on the agent Actions tab.

Webhook (HTTP) tools

The fastest path is a POST webhook tool:

  1. Create the tool under Build → Tools (or attach on the agent Actions tab)
  2. Taliiq sends structured JSON to your endpoint when the model invokes the tool
  3. Your response is fed back into the conversation before the agent speaks

Model Context Protocol (MCP)

For deeper integrations, attach an MCP server:

Go to Manage → Integrations and connect your MCP server URI.

Open the agent Actions tab and enable MCP-exposed tools.

Test in Agent Console — ask the agent to perform an action that requires the tool.

Collect Contact (built-in)

Collect Contact saves visitor details to Contacts during chat or voice — no custom webhook required.

Create the tool under Build → Tools → Collect Contact. Configure fields, trigger instructions, and optional forward after save.

Attach it on the agent Actions tab.

Test in Agent Console: chat should show an inline form; voice should capture fields conversationally. Confirm the row in Operate → Contacts and the event in Observe → Logs.

Collect Contact is disabled while Zero Data Retention is on. See Collect Contact guide for field config, forward behavior, and HIPAA notes.

Send Email (built-in)

Send Email lets the agent send a message through your org's Email (SMTP) integration during a conversation.

Connect Email (SMTP) under Manage → Integrations.

Create the tool under Build → Tools → Send Email and attach it on the agent Actions tab.

Test in Agent Console — ask the agent to send the email and confirm delivery.

Send SMS (built-in)

Send SMS sends one templated text message through a configured organization HTTP SMS gateway integration.

Connect an HTTP SMS gateway under Manage → Integrations.

Create the tool under Build → Tools → Send SMS and attach it on the agent Actions tab.

Test in Agent Console — ask the agent to send the SMS and confirm the gateway received the request.

Hang Up (built-in)

Hang Up ends a voice call. Voice templates attach a shared starter tool named hang_up_call (30 s silence and 15 min max by default). Goodbye fields are speech instructions in the agent's language.

See Hang Up for template defaults, shared-tool reuse, and manual setup.
