Files
Files stores knowledge documents for your organization — PDFs, text, and uploads indexed for retrieval.
Usage modes
| Mode | Behavior |

| Auto | Retrieve chunks when indexed; fall back to inline text |
| Prompt | Always inject summarized content into the prompt |
| Retrieval | RAG-only via vector search |
Dashboard workflow
Build → Files — upload or paste content.
Wait for indexing status Ready.
Link files on the agent Brain tab and choose a usage mode.
You cannot delete a file still linked as an agent's knowledge_file. Clear it on the agent first.
